What is it?
Tamboho connects people through labor for learning experiences. Helpers get the opportunity to learn new skills in exchange for helping Hosts on their projects.
Tamboho is 100% free and we never spam.
What are the benefits for you as a Helper?
1) You learn new skills. 2) You participate in amazing projects. 3) You meet great people and make new friends.
What are the benefits for Hosts?
1) They get help on their projects. 2) They get advices from the most skilled Helpers.
What are the benefits for everybody?
Tamboho promotes low-impact projects that do not harm the earth. The idea being to give these projects a competitive edge compared to projects that are disrespectful of the environment.
What can I learn on Tamboho?
At the moment, we accept the following projects: 1) Mud buildings (other alternative building materials such as straw, wood, bamboo, etc. are also okay) 2) Wooden boats 3) Organic farming
The idea is to expand the list. To add a project which does not belong to any category above, please just fill the "add project" form and choose "other" where it says "type of project". We'll review the project and may add it based on its merits.
How do I become a Helper?
Just create an account. By joining the Tamboho community, you become a Helper.
How do I become a Host?
To become a Host, just add your project to the projects database. To do so, please go to your account (top/right) and click the "add a project" button. Fill the form with project info and that's it!
Note: There is no dedicated signup process for Hosts. By creating an account on Tamboho, you become a Helper. By adding a project to the database, you become a Host.
I'm a Helper. How do I join a project?
That's easy! Just identify the project's Host and contact him/her directly by clicking the "contact" button next to his/her name. Identify yourself in the message and give info about your availibility. The Host will be notified and should come back to you rapidly.
Note that we wanted to keep things simple with this early version of Tamboho. So everything here happens "the old way" i.e., direct conversation between Helpers and Hosts via the Tamboho mailbox.
I'm a Host. How do I invite Helpers to my project?
You may want to invite the Helpers which are in your region to your project. To identify them, just type the name of your country or region in the Helpers' search box. It should return all the Helpers in this area.
To contact them, just click the "contact" button next to their names. Identify yourself in the message and give info about the project. The Helpers will be notified and should come back to you rapidly.
