Community Guidelines
Last Updated: 7-Nov-2021

TAMBOHO is a platform that connects people through "labor for learning" education. Helpers get the opportunity to learn new skills in exchange for helping hosts on their projects.

Hosts and Helpers engaging in such activities on TAMBOHO must abide by the provisions below (please note that these provisions do not in any way replace TAMBOHO's Terms of Use):

RESPECT OTHERS

TAMBOHO is a meeting place for people of different cultures, lifestyles and ideals. By joining our community, you promise to communicate with respect and consideration, even if you encounter someone you disagree with.

SAFETY FIRST

It's the responsibility of the Hosts to make sure that their projects are safe and comply with all local safety regulations. Hosts shall inform Helpers about specific risks on the project site and shall provide Helpers with all the necessary protection equipment (safety shoes, hard hat, safety goggles, gloves, etc.). Helpers shall return the protection equipment when they leave the project.

WORKING ON A PROJECT IS A PRIVILEGE, NOT A RIGHT

Hosts (and only them) decide who they accept on their projects.

HOSTS ARE CHIEFS ON BOARD

In order to guarantee the smooth running of projects, Helpers shall follow the instructions of the Hosts. If you are a Helper and do not like the task given to you, discuss the matter with the Host and ask him to be re-assigned to another task.

IT'S A FREE WORLD

The time a Helper stays on a project is to be discussed beforehand between the Host and the Helper. Helpers may leave a project at any time if circumpstances require so. In the same way, a Host may ask a Helper to leave the project earlier if he or she does not follow the community guidelines.

PEOPLE LEARN FROM MISTAKE

In most cases, Helpers will join a project to learn. Hosts must consider that Helpers are not professionals and shall therefore assess their skills individually and assign them to tasks they are able to perform. Put aside cases of flagrant vandalism, Helpers shall not be held responsible for possible defects or delays incurred by the project as a result of their involvement in the project.

GOOD FOOD, GOOD MOOD

TAMBOHO encourages Hosts to provide meals and accomodation if that's possible. Helpers shall check with Hosts if meals and accomodation is provided.

NO MONEY CHANGES HANDS

"Labor for learning" means money does not change hands. Hosts shall not seek compensation for providing learning. Helpers shall not seek compensation for providing labor.

CHECK THE LAW

You may be in a region where volunteering is regulated. Hosts shall check the law before inviting Helpers on their projects and make sure that they comply with the relevant rules in their jurisdictions (if any) especially with regard to tax, insurance and visas. Seek for legal assistance in case of doubt. You can also ask other TAMBOHO Hosts for advices.

REPORT VIOLATIONS

If you feel another users is violating these Guidelines or TAMBOHO's Terms of Use, please write to us at tambohostudio@gmail.com.
